Chaired by the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held on October 2. It summarized the results of the work carried out in the country during the nine months of 2026 and highlighted specific indicators achieved across economic sectors. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the reporting period, 8 Laws of Turkmenistan and 14 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted. These included the approval of laws on the establishment of the jubilee medal "To the Participant of the Solemn Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan" and on the state protection of Akhal-Teke horses. Additionally, credentials were accepted from 7 foreign ambassadors, 37 bilateral meetings were held, and 93 training seminars were conducted. Parliamentarians made 20 foreign visits.
In January–September, GDP growth remained steady at 6.3%. Growth rates by sector reached: 3% in industry, 6.7% in construction, 10.4% in transport and communications, 8.4% in trade, 4.1% in agriculture, and 8.4% in the services sector. Total production output increased by 9.9%, retail trade turnover by 10.5%, and foreign trade turnover by 8.3%. The revenue portion of the State Budget was fulfilled by 100.1%, and the expenditure portion by 97.2%. Capital investment volume rose by 3.5%.
The State Concern "Turkmennebit" fulfilled its oil extraction plan by 109.1% and oil refining by 106.8%. Production plans were met as follows: gasoline by 119.3%, diesel fuel by 114.7%, lubricating oils by 100%, and liquefied gas by 112%. Natural and associated gas extraction reached 109.1%.
The production growth rate in the agricultural sector reached 124.2%. This figure stood at 113.3% for the Ministry of Agriculture, 140.3% for the State Concern "Turkmenpagta", 125.8% for the State Association "Turkmengallaonumlery", and 120.3% for the State Association of Food Industry. The investment utilization plan was completed at 144.2%. Wheat sowing and cotton harvesting continue across the country.
The construction and industrial complex fulfilled its production and work plan by 120.9%. Indicators reached: 128.3% for the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, 127.7% for the State Concern "Turkmenhimiya", 130.9% for the Ashgabat City Hyakimlik, 102.8% for the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, and 107% for the Ministry of Energy.
Trade turnover for the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations increased by 113.2%. Growth in the textile industry reached 106.4%, with cotton yarn production at 102.3% and cotton fabrics at 100.9%. The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 222 trading sessions and registered 23,460 contracts. Under the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, output growth for agricultural and food products reached 110.4%, and industrial products reached 109.2%.
Over the nine months, school and university students won 1,040 medals at international academic competitions. New campus buildings for the Architecture and Construction Institute in Ashgabat and the Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat were commissioned. Turkmen athletes won a total of 554 medals at international competitions.
Since the beginning of the year, 608 foreign delegations visited Turkmenistan, while 1,011 Turkmen delegations traveled abroad. A total of 355 virtual meetings and 1,682 official talks were organized. In total, 187 international documents were signed. Credentials were accepted from new ambassadors representing several countries.
The growth rate of completed work and services in the transport and communication complex reached 114.7%. Cargo transportation increased by 108%, and passenger transport by 102%. Service growth rates were recorded at 107.4% for the Ministry of Railway Transport, 115.8% for the Ministry of Automobile Transport, 121.8% for the "Turkmenhowayollary" service, and 115.3% for the Ministry of Communications.
