Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector maintained steady growth during the first nine months of the year, with production reaching 124.2% compared to the same period last year. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev reported the results to esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a Cabinet meeting held via digital system on October 2, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
According to the report, the Ministry of Agriculture recorded growth of 113.3%, while the Ministry of Environmental Protection reached 103.4% and the State Committee for Water Management posted 105.1%. The state concern «Turkmenpagta» achieved growth of 140.3%, the «Turkmengallaönümleri» State Association recorded 125.8%, and the State Association of Food Industry reached 120.3%. Growth also amounted to 100.2% for the «Türkmenobahyzmat» State Association, 102.5% for the State Association of Livestock and Poultry Industry, and 104.3% for the «Türkmen atlary» State Association. The capital investment plan was fulfilled at 144.2%.
The meeting also noted that wheat sowing and the cotton harvest are currently underway across the country’s velayats. At the same time, cotton processing enterprises continue to receive and process the harvested crop.
After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan esteemed Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of ensuring that seasonal agricultural activities are carried out at a high organizational level. The head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to accelerate the pace of the cotton harvest and ensure that wheat sowing is completed within the prescribed agrotechnical timeframe and in full compliance with established requirements.
