Festive events celebrating the International Day of Older Persons are being widely held in Turkmenistan. On the occasion of this auspicious date, the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, sent a congratulatory message to the country's older generations and all its people, as reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

In his message, the Head of State emphasized his firm conviction that these festive celebrations, held in the year marking the 35th anniversary of Sacred Independence, will further enhance respect and honor for the older generations and strengthen feelings of patriotism. It was noted that the primary goal of the country's domestic and foreign policy is to ensure a happy and peaceful life for the people, particularly the wise elders and youth.

The message also highlighted important decisions adopted at the recent meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. It was mentioned that elders with special merits to society were awarded the title of "Hormatly il ýaşulusy" (Honored Elder of the Nation), and mothers were presented with the "Zenan kalby" (Heart of a Woman) orders. Today, musical, festive, and cultural events are taking place across all regions of the country to mark the occasion.

The Esteemed President pointed to Turkmenistan's commitment to the principles of neutrality, peace, and good-neighborliness as the core of its foreign policy. It was noted that major industrial and social infrastructure projects implemented in the country, alongside the construction of modern cities and villages, serve the well-being of the people and the dynamic development of the state. In this context, the vital role of the grand endeavors initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and the wise advice of the elders was emphasized.

At the conclusion of his address, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the older generations and all fellow countrymen good health, a happy life, and continued success in their work for the benefit and development of their beloved Motherland.
