On September 26, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, made a working trip around the city of Ashgabat to review preparations for the festive events marking the 35th anniversary of the Motherland’s sacred Independence, as well as celebrations in honor of the «heavenly» horses.

The Hero-Arkadag first examined the conditions created for holding the upcoming meeting of the International Association of Akhalteke Horse Breeding, as well as for discussing matters in the field of national horse breeding and training. As the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasized, organizational matters for the upcoming international events must remain a central focus, highlighting the necessity of ensuring their high-level organization.

Taking into account the steadily growing worldwide fame of Akhalteke horses, the Hero-Arkadag noted that it is important for the upcoming events to be conducted properly, in accordance with international practices and modern requirements. In this regard, reports from relevant officials were heard.

It was reported that celebrations and international forums dedicated to Akhalteke horses will continue until the end of this year, representing the result of ongoing efforts to fulfill the theme of the current year. The relevant officials also provided detailed briefings on the work being carried out in their assigned sectors and the preparations for events commemorating glorious Independence.

In particular, it was emphasized that the upcoming events and the cultural program of the planned international forums, along with the topics to be included in their agendas, have been prepared taking into account the growing global interest in Akhalteke horses. This will ensure a high level of organization for events of international and national significance held as part of the widely celebrated festivities in Turkmenistan.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also held a working meeting on-site with the relevant officials. The Vice-President of the International Association of Akhalteke Horse Breeding B. Rejepov provided a detailed report on the ongoing preparations for the upcoming events and the items to be included in the agenda of the Association's 16th meeting.

The Hero-Arkadag noted that international and national events related to Akhalteke horses held throughout the year have contributed to their global promotion. Expressing satisfaction with the steady increase in the membership of the International Association of Akhalteke Horse Breeding , the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasized that organizing the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhalteke Beauty Contest in the Kingdom of the Netherlands further enhanced the glory of the «heavenly» horses, which are a national treasure of the Turkmen people.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atahallyyev reported on the measures being taken to ensure the proper standard of celebrations and horse races planned for this year, especially during the holidays. It was noted that horse-related events will be organized in line with national festive traditions.

The Vice Premier also congratulated the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero-Serdar on the 35th anniversary of Independence and expressed gratitude for the conditions created to develop the horse breeding industry.

As the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan emphasized, the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the Motherland’s glorious Independence should reflect the nation’s universal love for «heavenly» horses. Akhalteke horses, whose history stretches back into antiquity, represent a massive contribution by the Turkmen people to world horse breeding. Akhalteke horses embody the worldview of our people and the traditions of the art of horse training, earning special reverence at the global level.

«Heavenly» horses have become the main ornament of the Turkmen people's celebrations and holidays, the Hero-Arkadag said, emphasizing that events held throughout the year under the motto «Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses» have multiplied their fame. This serves as vivid confirmation that Akhalteke horses are a world heritage.

Continuing on the topic, the National Leader of the Turkmen People stressed that the media's promotion of Akhalteke horses should be kept under constant review. As is known, Turkmenistan announced the CIS interstate television film contest «Flight of a Racehorse: Power and Grace». This opened up broad opportunities for television workers across the Commonwealth countries to create video films dedicated to Akhalteke horses.

Noting the need for joint efforts by relevant agencies to ensure all planned events—including the interstate TV film contest—are held at a high level, the Hero-Arkadag highlighted the importance of a responsible and well-thought-out approach from the leadership, offering a series of recommendations on the matter.

Along with the importance of maintaining proper standards for the scheduled festive events, the National Leader of the Turkmen People emphasized the necessity of stepping up international cooperation in horse breeding. As noted, this will be of paramount importance for effectively adopting advanced global experience and modern scientific achievements in this field.
