In the modern global economy, the transport and logistics system is the primary tool ensuring the mutual integration of states and regions. Due to its favorable geographical location, Turkmenistan serves as the heart of the historic Great Silk Road. Under the leadership of the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, our country is transforming into the largest transit crossroads of the Eurasian continent. The proclamation of the years 2026–2035 as the "Decade of Sustainable Transport" by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan is a clear proof of our country's international prestige in this field.

Situated in the western part of Central Asia on the coast of the Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan is a natural bridge connecting South Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and China. This territorial advantage of the country has become not only a source of economic revenue but also a key geopolitical factor ensuring stability in the region. Through "transport diplomacy," Turkmenistan develops beneficial cooperation with neighboring and interregional states.

The South-West Corridor is a multimodal (involving multiple modes of transport) route ensuring the delivery of cargo caravans starting from China to Europe via the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus. The Lapis Lazuli Corridor, which is an important part of it, follows the Afghanistan – Turkmenistan – Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey route and revitalizes trade between Asia and Europe.

Turkmenbashi International Seaport: Being the largest and most modern port on the Caspian Sea, it has the capacity to handle 17 million tons of dry cargo and 300 thousand passengers per year. As a "Marine Gate," it represents the heart of the East–West Corridor.

Arkadag City: Built on the basis of "smart" and "green" technologies, new digital transport terminals and logistics management centers are being established in this city.

The transit transport corridors of Turkmenistan contribute significantly to the development of not only the national economy but also the entire Eurasian economic space. The country's investments in the transport system, modernly constructed railways and highways, a powerful seaport, and world-class airports have turned Turkmenistan into one of the most reliable and profitable logistics hubs in the world. In the future, with the integration of global digital trade systems, the significance of these corridors will increase even further.
