On October 2, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a Cabinet of Ministers meeting via the digital system, at which the results of the work carried out in the country over the first nine months of this year were summed up.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov reported on the macroeconomic indicators of the national economy for the first nine months of this year.
It was reported that the GDP growth rate for the specified period was 6.3 percent, including 3 percent in the industrial complex, 6.7 percent in construction, 10.4 percent in the transport and communications sector, 8.4 percent in trade, 4.1 percent in agriculture, and 8.4 percent in the services sector.
Compared with the same period last year, overall output increased by 9.9 percent in January–September of this year. Positive production indicators were achieved across the sectors of the economy.
During the period under review, compared with the same period of 2025, retail trade turnover grew by 10.5 percent, and foreign trade turnover by 8.3 percent.
In January–September, the revenue side of the State Budget was executed at 100.1 percent, and the expenditure side at 97.2 percent.
During the specified period, wages were paid on time and in full in state institutions financed from the budget and on a self-financing basis, and pensions, state benefits and student stipends were issued.
The volume of capital investments utilized from all sources of financing was 3.5 percent higher than in the same period last year.
A report was also presented on the work carried out in January–September 2026 within the framework of implementing the National Rural Program, including the progress of construction of facilities for various purposes.
Summing up the report, the head of Turkmenistan stressed that the activities of the economic, financial and banking complexes should continue to be improved. In addition, the importance of analyzing the draft State Budget for the coming year and stepping up the work being conducted in this direction was noted. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take measures aimed at maintaining the stable dynamics of GDP growth and the coordinated development of the sectors of the economy.
