The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that over the years of Independence, Turkmenistan has achieved significant success in the political, economic, and social spheres and enjoys high authority at the international level. The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan particularly emphasized the enormous personal contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as an outstanding statesman and politician, to strengthening neutral Turkmenistan as a powerful state and boosting its international standing.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan once again cordially congratulated the Turkmen side on the unanimous adoption in May 2026 of the United Nations Resolution «The Role and Significance of the Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security, and the Sustainable Development Process».

Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the multifaceted, long-term, and mutually beneficial relations of strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan will be elevated to a qualitatively new level.
