On September 25, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, at which a number of issues of state life were considered.

Opening the meeting, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar noted that, according to established tradition, such noble actions as the pardoning of citizens convicted of crimes committed, but who regret what they have done and sincerely repent of it, are carried out on a regular basis in our country.

In this connection, the floor was given to the Secretary of the State Security Council, Chairman of the Commission for the Preparation of Proposals on Citizenship and Pardon Issues under the President of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyyev, who reported on the results of the Commission's work on pardoning convicted persons in honor of the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Fatherland.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, following the noble tradition, signed a Decree pardoning 1,054 convicted citizens of the country on the occasion of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan.

The Head of State instructed the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyyev, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to carry out the necessary work to release the convicted persons from places of detention and return them to their families in the near future.

Arkadagly Hero-Serdar wished the pardoned citizens to work conscientiously, sincerely serve the Motherland, and live enjoying the fruits of their labor.

Then the floor was given to the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, who noted that, under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and with the participation of the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of sacred Independence, in a spirit of unity and cohesion, in an atmosphere of high enthusiasm, a regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held. The forum, having become a significant socio-political event, strengthened our people's commitment to the centuries-old national traditions of democratic governance, increased the pride of Turkmen citizens in their native Fatherland and their boundless love for it, and their firm confidence in a bright future. At the meeting, which demonstrated the triumph of national democracy, important issues related to ensuring the well-being of the people and the prosperity of the Fatherland were discussed, and decisions and resolutions of historic significance were adopted. The deeply substantive speeches, imbued with wisdom, of Arkadagly Hero-Serdar and the Hero-Arkadag, which became a fundamental doctrine of a strategic nature aimed at the further comprehensive development of the country, were supported with great enthusiasm by the participants of the meeting and the entire people.

As noted by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the tasks set at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan are aimed at the further development of the country and the improvement of the social and living conditions of the people. In this connection, emphasis was placed on the need to continue the activities being carried out in this direction.

Then the Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Bahar Seyidova reported on preparations for holding, at a high level, celebrations and events on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Fatherland.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of ensuring a high level of organization of the celebrations dedicated to the country's Independence Day, giving the Deputy Prime Minister the relevant instructions in this regard.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported on the draft Resolution «On Granting Permission for Residence in Turkmenistan».

As was noted, in order to implement the state policy of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, based on humanistic principles, authorized state bodies are carrying out relevant work to review applications from foreign citizens wishing to permanently reside in Turkmenistan. In particular, appropriate measures are being taken to regulate the legal status of foreign citizens living with relatives who are citizens of Turkmenistan, who are married to citizens of our country, as well as foreign citizens registered in Turkmenistan before the introduction of the visa regime with the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). In this connection, based on the personal applications of 146 people, corresponding work has been carried out to grant them permission to reside in Turkmenistan. Among them are citizens of 7 states and representatives of 16 nationalities, of whom 99 are women and 47 are men.

In this connection, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov submitted the draft of the corresponding document for consideration by the Head of State.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that effective work aimed at ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms is being carried out in our country. Having signed the Resolution «On Granting Permission for Residence in Turkmenistan», Arkadagly Hero-Serdar gave the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs the relevant instructions.

Continuing the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov noted the political significance of the documents adopted at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

Taking the opportunity, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, on behalf of the participants of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the glorious 35th anniversary of the sacred Independence of the Fatherland, wishing Arkadagly Hero-Serdar and the Hero-Arkadag good health, longevity, and success in their state activities.

Having noted the great significance of the documents adopted at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan for the further implementation of the country's domestic and foreign policy, the Head of State ordered that work be continued to enhance the international authority of the Fatherland.

Addressing the participants of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the fact that events are being held these days on the occasion of the holiday of the country's sacred Independence, instructing that the high organizational level of the celebrations be kept under control.

It was further noted that the 35th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan is approaching.
