The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke on September 23 at a session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, where he put forward a number of new initiatives in the spheres of economy, legislation and foreign policy.

As noted by Arkadagly Hero-Serdar, the country's gross domestic product growth rate is expected to reach 6.3 percent by the end of this year. In accordance with the Concept for the Development of the Labor Market of Turkmenistan until 2030, about 5,300 new jobs will be created by the end of the year. Under the Program of Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan for 2026, more than 41 billion 200 million manats of capital investments will be utilized by the end of the year, of which 68.5 percent is allocated to production facilities and 31.5 percent to socio-cultural facilities.

In agriculture, more than 1 million 400 thousand tons of wheat have been delivered, 1 million 250 thousand tons of cotton are planned to be delivered, and more than 2 thousand 100 tons of cocoons have been produced.

Among the largest facilities, the fourth stage of development of the «Galkynyş» gas field was mentioned, involving the construction of a modern plant with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of commercial gas per year. More than 1 thousand new jobs will soon appear there.

The full implementation of such a significant project will make it possible to increase hydrocarbon supply volumes, ensuring their reliable export. In general, the fourth phase of development of the «Galkynyş» gas field, as well as the laying of a modern settlement in the Yolotan etrap of the Mary velayat, became some of the largest projects within the framework of energy and social policy. A multifunctional solar-wind power plant will be put into operation in the Balkan velayat this year. The development of the oil and gas complex was noted: along the Serhetabat – Herat route, called «Arkadagyň ak ýoly» the laying of a section of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline continues at an accelerated pace. Likewise, new facilities are being built within the structure of the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. At the same time, effective measures are being taken to modernize the Seydi oil refinery. This year, the Mary – Turkmenabat section of the 600-kilometer Ashgabat – Turkmenabat high-speed highway was opened.

In the country, large-scale construction of industrial and social infrastructure facilities continues. In the building materials industry, the volumes and range of manufactured products are steadily increasing.

This year, in the Koytendag etrap of the Lebap velayat, we will launch a modern enterprise for the production of construction mixes and plasterboard products, and thereby significantly strengthen the base of the construction sector.

Effective measures are also being taken to create new production facilities in the chemical industry. This year, in the settlement of Guvlymayak in the Turkmenbashi etrap of the Balkan velayat, we will open, in a festive atmosphere, a complex of residential buildings and other structures for workers of the industry.

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported that the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the resolution «The Role and Significance of the Policy of Neutrality in Maintaining and Strengthening International Peace, Security and Sustainable Development», as well as the resolution «2028 — International Year of Law», put forward on the initiative of Turkmenistan. In October of this year, a Summit of Heads of State and other events of international significance are planned to be held in the National Tourist Zone «Awaza». The country will host a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as a regular session of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
