The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania hosted an event dedicated to the upcoming regular session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the proclamation of 2028 as the "Year of International Law.", as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event took place with the participation of Turkmen students and Turkmen citizens residing in Romania.

During the meeting, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev emphasized the significance of the upcoming session of the Halk Maslahaty, which will be held on September 23, 2026.

Special attention was drawn to the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to declare 2028 the "Year of International Law." It was noted that the relevant UN General Assembly resolution, adopted on July 24, 2026, with the co-sponsorship of 78 states, reflects Turkmenistan's contribution to strengthening international law, peace, and trust.

As part of the event, a presentation dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horse—the symbol of the year 2026—was also held, along with an exhibition of books authored by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
