Preparations for the Halk Maslahaty session scheduled for September 23 became the central focus of a briefing hosted at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Belarus. The meeting in Minsk brought together heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, officials from the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, and Turkmen students pursuing higher education in Belarus.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Nazarguly Shagulyev emphasized that the anniversary of the nation's independence symbolizes the inviolability of its sovereignty, national unity, and the continuity of the strategic course established by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and consistently implemented by the President of Turkmenistan.

Special attention from the diplomatic corps was directed to the upcoming session of the People's Council (Halk Maslahaty) of Turkmenistan, to be held on September 23, 2026, in Ashgabat. This forum of the supreme representative body—bringing together elders, deputies, and delegates from across the country—is designed to define the long-term vectors of socio-economic development and the strategic programs of state building.

The diplomat noted that Turkmenistan's well-calculated domestic policy harmoniously aligns with its active role on the international stage.

During the briefing, a documentary film detailing the country's modern achievements was presented, alongside a themed photo exhibition. Guests of the diplomatic mission had the opportunity to view unique examples of decorative and applied arts—including renowned handmade carpets, fine jewelry, national costumes, and rare artifacts reflecting the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, which serves as the foundational basis for the nation's contemporary policy of humanism and openness to the world.
