On September 9, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan, Ms. Alena Grand, who presented her credentials to the head of state. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Expressing deep gratitude to the President of the country for taking the time to meet, the diplomat noted that France attaches great importance to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, which successfully pursues a foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality and peacefulness. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from President Emmanuel Macron to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
Conveying his best wishes to the French leader, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Ms. Alena Grand on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to our country, wishing her great success in her important and responsible mission.
It was noted that France is one of Turkmenistan's key partners in Europe. It was emphasized that our country places high importance on developing cooperation in trade, economic, energy, cultural, and humanitarian fields.
During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction that both states interact successfully not only bilaterally, but also within major international platforms. This partnership is clearly demonstrated through collaboration in authoritative bodies such as the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Speaking about bilateral cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmen-French relations are consistently developing based on mutual trust, respect, and openness. It was noted that this interaction is not limited to the intergovernmental level, but is also actively growing through the private sectors of both countries.
The level of mutual trust achieved opens up new horizons for expanding trade and economic ties. In this context, the head of state confirmed our country's readiness to jointly implement promising new initiatives in areas such as energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, science, and culture.
It was emphasized that the cultural and humanitarian sphere is an important component of Turkmen-French relations. In this regard, it was highlighted that the mutual enrichment of cultures contributes to strengthening the friendly bilateral partnership.
