Large-scale efforts continue to develop friendly and brotherly relations and strengthen cultural cooperation between Turkmenistan and member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY). On the occasion of declaring the city of Andijan, Uzbekistan, as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" for 2026, an important meeting of the heads of Writers' Unions of TURKSOY member states was held here. The event was jointly organized by TURKSOY, the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan, and the administration of the Andijan region. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

The talks held at the Andijan regional administration building were chaired by Minhojiddin Mirzo, Deputy Chairman of the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, representative of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan Akmyrat Rejepov, as well as heads of Writers' Unions and prominent writers and poets from Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.

During the discussions, issues regarding the creation of a common digital literature platform, an electronic library, and a database about writers of the Turkic world were addressed. Major plans were also put forward for translating literary heritage into world languages, joint participation in international book fairs and literary festivals, and formulating the work plan of the TURKSOY Writers' Union for 2027.

As part of the events, a conference dedicated to the literary heritage of the famous Turkish poet was held at the Andijan State Medical Institute to mark TURKSOY's declaration of "2026 – The Year of Ziya Gökalp." At the conclusion of the meeting, participants were solemnly presented with Certificates of Appreciation from the Writers' Union of Uzbekistan. The attendees expressed their readiness to further advance creative cooperation under the motto "Literary friendship is eternal friendship."
