A meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Byashimova, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America to Turkmenistan, Christine Hawkins.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Turkmen-American cooperation and reviewed prospects for further interaction in areas of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organizations, primarily the UN.

The sides also exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including the development of educational and sports contacts, as well as the implementation of joint projects and programs.

In addition, organizational matters regarding upcoming joint events were reviewed during the meeting. The interlocutors reaffirmed their readiness to maintain a regular dialogue and develop constructive interaction on a wide range of bilateral and multilateral agenda items.
