On June 12, a Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova informed the government meeting about the ongoing activities to improve the country's legislative framework. This was reported by the electronic newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».
As reported, work is currently underway, based on proposals received from ministries and sectoral agencies, to introduce amendments and additions to the Customs, Labour, Sanitary and Family Codes of Turkmenistan, the Code on Administrative Offences, as well as to the Laws «On Military Duty and Military Service», «On Administrative Proceedings», «On the Court» and «On Publishing».
At the same time, meetings were held in parliament with representatives of the UN Population Fund and the International Organization for Migration in Turkmenistan. In addition, representatives of the Mejlis participated in seminars and meetings organized by UN structural divisions jointly with relevant state institutions of the country.
Having heard the information, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of further development of new draft laws meeting the realities of the time.
