Turkmenistan and Slovakia to hold first meeting of a Joint Commission on Economic cooperation

On June 12, a Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported at a government meeting on the progress of preparations for the first meeting of the Turkmen-Slovak Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As was reported, the necessary measures are currently being taken to establish the commission and hold its first meeting. With the aim of further developing relations between the two countries, the upcoming meeting of the Turkmen-Slovak Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation will discuss prospects for partnership in the trade and economic, fuel and energy, construction, and transport and communications spheres, as well as in the field of information technologies, and in such areas as agriculture, environmental protection, healthcare and medical science, education, culture, sports and tourism.

Having heard the report, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the country maintains productive interaction with European states, including the Slovak Republic. After signing the document prepared with the aim of further developing relations between Turkmenistan and the Slovak Republic, the Head of State instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out the necessary work.
