Turkmenistan is in the midst of the grain harvesting season. With the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, alongside other regions of the country, farmers of the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats began harvesting on June 10. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».

Following a good tradition established over centuries, elders offered prayers to the Almighty for a successful harvest. The respected aksakals then cut the first wheat ears and handed symbolic sheaves to combine operators. Powerful combines deployed in the fields of the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats began gathering the golden grain.

In the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats, exhibitions of agro-industrial complex products and samples of modern agricultural machinery were organized at the edge of the wheat fields as part of the harvest season opening celebrations. Performers of pop and folk songs, as well as dance and folklore ensembles, prepared musical gifts for the grain growers.

The wheat harvesting season in the northern and western regions of the country was preceded by training and production seminars, where issues related to the organization of mowing and the coordinated operation of the entire grain harvesting conveyor were discussed.
