A meeting of the Turkmen-American Business Council was organized in the format of a "round table" at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry located in Ashgabat. This important event was attended by the heads of relevant ministries and sectoral departments of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of American companies led by the Executive Director of the Council, Eric Stewart. This was reported by the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" electronic newspaper.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan is always open to international cooperation to introduce modern technologies and world practices. The favorable legal and organizational conditions created in the country for foreign investors were also highlighted. American businessmen, in turn, confirmed their readiness to strengthen their positions in the Turkmen market and actively participate in the implementation of state programs. It was specially emphasized that the visits of the leaders of the two countries to the USA brought relations to a new level.
The parties highly praised the role of the Turkmen-American Business Council in strengthening long-term economic relations. Regularly organized forums, exhibitions, and meetings greatly contribute to the convergence of the public and private sectors. Among the key areas of joint cooperation, such important fields as industry, agriculture and water management, the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, construction, innovations, cybersecurity, healthcare, and ecology were highlighted.
The participants of the meeting discussed the possibilities of increasing mutual trade turnover in the trade and investment sectors and defined concrete plans for the future. In this regard, attention was drawn to the importance of the new Turkmen-American Business Cooperation Association (TABCA), which was established in May this year. Confidence was expressed that this new platform will supplement the already existing frameworks and help to further coordinate economic relations.
Within the framework of the event, the heads of ministries and sectoral departments of Turkmenistan held separate bilateral meetings with representatives of the US business community. The participants of the meeting noted that the bilateral relations, which have gained a new momentum recently, will be successfully continued in the future.
