The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Festival. In his congratulatory message, the National Leader wished the Head of State sound health, long life, and new successes in his work to preserve the national values of our people. The letter notes that the Turkmen carpet, created by the tireless dedication of Turkmen women and amazing the world with its unique beauty, is an immense contribution to the cultural treasure trove of all mankind.

By combining the rich traditions of national heritage with advanced technologies, the production structures of the carpet industry are being modernized in our country. New artistic carpet enterprises are being commissioned, creating all necessary conditions for carpet weavers to work productively. Awarding state decorations and conferring honorary titles upon outstanding masters in the sector demonstrates the high respect of our state for this craft. Furthermore, the decision to build an artistic carpet enterprise and the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and Handicrafts in the newly built city of Arkadag is of historical significance.

Hero Arkadag specifically emphasized that the inclusion of the Turkmen national art of carpet weaving in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is a world-level recognition of this heritage. The international exhibition organized on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Festival, the XXVI meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs, and the musical celebrations once again provide a broad opportunity to promote our country's achievements in this field worldwide.
