On May 24, the plenary session of the "White City Ashgabat" conference was held at the "Olimpiýa" hotel in the capital, with the participation of heads and representatives of state and private enterprises of our country, UN specialized agencies, international organizations, foreign diplomatic missions, and major companies. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
During this session, titled "Formation of a sustainable, 'smart' and globally integrated capital city," promising directions for the long-term development of Ashgabat were reviewed. Speakers extended their congratulations on the capital's landmark anniversary and noted that Ashgabat's inclusion in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network and the Global Network of Learning Cities, as well as its membership in the World Tourism Cities Federation, proves its high international standing.
Today, urban development stands as an integral part of the country's state policy. The social infrastructure of our capital, recognized as the "Pearl of Asia," is being systematically improved, and its architectural appearance is enriched with modern buildings and facilities. This year, it is planned to commission several residential complexes and various purpose-built facilities in our city. The fact that the bulk of these construction works is carried out by local enterprises is a clear proof of the growing economic power of our Motherland. Integrating modern digital systems and resource-saving technologies into the buildings under construction was defined as one of the primary tasks. At the conference, it was especially emphasized that Ashgabat, as a sustainable and livable city, is always open to international cooperation and investment.
Within the framework of the international event, bilateral meetings were arranged between the heads of ministries and sectoral departments of our country and representatives of leading foreign construction and manufacturing companies. During these meetings, the parties discussed broad opportunities for further developing mutually beneficial relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
On the second day of the conference, specialized sessions continued on the development of “smart” cities, industrial and construction complexes, as well as advanced energy and digital systems for the cities of the future. The 25th multidisciplinary international exhibition and conference “My White City Ashgabat” concluded its work on Ashgabat City Day.
