On May 23, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a conference dedicated to the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly titled "The role and significance of the policy of neutrality in maintaining and strengthening international peace, security and sustainable development." The event was attended by the leadership of the country's foreign ministry, foreign diplomats accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of international organizations, as well as professors and students of the institute. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The international conference featured speeches by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, diplomatic representatives of the country, and foreign ambassadors. In his speech, the Minister noted that the new Resolution proves the global community's support for Turkmenistan's foreign policy course, emphasizing that initiatives in this direction became possible thanks to the far-sighted policy of the National Leader of the Turkmen folk, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to several important proposals outlined in the Resolution, including initiatives to establish an Academic Center and a Peace Mediation Body in Turkmenistan, as well as to prepare a Manual on Neutrality. The significance of the Head of State's initiative to develop a Global Security Strategy to sustain peaceful dialogue worldwide was also discussed, reaffirming Turkmenistan's readiness for cooperation in this area.
The participants expressed confidence that Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality would strengthen stability and mutual understanding in the region and across the world. At the conclusion of the conference, an Address to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was adopted on behalf of the participants.
