On May 22, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Government via a digital system. During the meeting, important issues related to the sustainable development of healthy lifestyle principles and the improvement of the healthcare system in the country were reviewed. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Mammedov reported on the preparatory work being carried out for the physical culture and sports events to be organized in our country on the occasion of World Bicycle Day. As noted, a mass bicycle ride is planned to be organized in the capital on June 3, and sports competitions, scientific-practical conferences, and awareness-raising events are scheduled to be held in all velayats as well as in Ashgabat and Arkadag cities between May 30 and June 3.
Having heard the report, the Head of State noted that World Bicycle Day is an international sports holiday of health and happiness, and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to hold the celebrations marking this date at a high organizational level.
Continuing his report, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted the draft Decree approving the "National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases in Turkmenistan for 2026–2030" for the consideration of the Head of State. This draft was developed with the aim of protecting human health, preventing diseases, and developing the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry at a global level.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of extending human life expectancy and promoting healthy lifestyle principles, and subsequently signed the document approving the new National Strategy aimed at preventing non-communicable diseases among the population, instructing that the work in this area be properly organized.
