The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, held a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Eisuke Mori, on May 21. During the meeting, the current high level of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations between the two countries was highly commended, and opportunities for raising the cooperation to new horizons were discussed. This was reported by the information service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the talks, the historical significance of high-level visits in developing bilateral relations was particularly emphasized. In this regard, it was noted that the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Japan, as well as the visits of the President of Turkmenistan last year, gave a powerful impetus to the cooperation between the two states.
At the meeting, specific directions for further activating inter-parliamentary relations were reviewed. The parties discussed issues of strengthening the work of the Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, organizing the first inter-parliamentary forum of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue in Ashgabat, and creating cooperation mechanisms between female parliamentarians of the two countries in the fields of healthcare, education, and culture.
