From May 13 to 14, 2026, a delegation from Turkmenistan led by a Chairperson of a Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, paid a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by a press service of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

On the first day of the visit, the Turkmen delegation participated in the forum of women scientists «Women's Leadership in Science: Contemporary Problems, Innovative Solutions, and Scientific Cooperation», organized as part of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of the Region and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Speaking at the forum, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, discussed in detail the programmatic work being carried out in Turkmenistan to improve digital literacy, support the research activities of women scientists in the fields of biotechnology, ecology, and innovative technologies, and improve the relevant legislative framework.

On the same day, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan met with Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, it was emphasized that centuries-old Turkmen-Uzbek friendly relations are being strengthened through parliamentary diplomacy. The parties discussed transport, transit, and cross-border cooperation, enhancing the role of women in digital technologies, and exchanging legislative experience.

On May 14, the Turkmen delegation participated in the second Asian Women's Forum, which was held under the title «Investing in Women – the Foundation for Sustainable Growth: Expanding Women's Political, Economic, Social, and Environmental Opportunities». In her speech, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan places great emphasis on policies to ensure gender equality and strengthen the role of women in public administration and public life.
