At the off-site meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on May 8 under the leadership of Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, issues of improving the country's legislative framework were in the center of attention. Speaker of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova provided detailed information on the work carried out in this direction. This was reported by the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" online newspaper.
As noted by the head of the parliament, currently, working groups are preparing several new draft laws in accordance with the universally recognized norms of international law and national programs. The report emphasized that work is underway on documents related to the state registration of rights to immovable property and legal support for our state's accession to international documents.
Furthermore, measures to modernize the Criminal, Criminal Procedure, and Customs Codes of Turkmenistan were an important part of the report. The participation of deputies in training seminars organized jointly with international organizations, particularly the representations of the European Union and the OSCE, helps to apply world experience in legislative work.
The report also gave a special place to the work of deputies in the field regarding meetings with the people, considering citizens' applications, and studying their social and living conditions.
After listening to the report, the Head of State noted that the preparation of new legislative acts that meet the requirements of the time is of fundamental importance for the consistent development of our state and instructed to continue the work in this direction.
