A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Bashimova and Yegor Zaytsev, Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Ashgabat. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
As noted, representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister Azat Ovezov, also participated in the meeting, which took place on April 20.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the current status and prospects for further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the WHO in priority areas. In this context, special attention was paid to the promotion of bilateral and multilateral project documents, as well as preparations for upcoming international events in this area.
In particular, preparations for the planned event in Geneva on the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly were discussed.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing their partnership and strengthening regional cooperation in the field of healthcare.
