Turkmenistan elected to the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development until 2030

On April 8, 2026, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Turkmenistan was elected by acclamation to the Commission on Science and Technology for Development. This was reported by the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the United Nations.

The elections were held within the framework of a meeting of the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). According to the adopted decision, Turkmenistan will serve as a member of the Commission for the period from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2030.

Participation in the work of the Commission provides countries with the opportunity to contribute to shaping the international agenda in the fields of scientific and technological development, innovation, and sustainable growth.
