International tourism exhibition and conference “Turkmentravel – 2026” began its work on April 14 in the Turkmen capital. The aim of the forum is to widely present the tourism potential of Turkmenistan, expand mutually beneficial cooperation with international companies, and study best practices in the field. This was reported by the online newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden age”.
During the opening ceremony, a welcoming address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the international tourism exhibition and conference “Turkmentravel – 2026” was read out.
The message noted that, in the era of the Renaissance of a new epoch of a powerful state, activities in the country’s tourism sector are developing on an increasingly broad scale. Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding international cooperation in this field. Cooperation with the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the World Tourism Cities Federation, as well as tourism companies around the world, opens new opportunities for the development of the sector.
Participants then visited the exhibition. Around 70 companies operating in the tourism sector in Turkmenistan and abroad presented their stands. Videos showcasing the country’s tourism potential were displayed on a large screen.
Airlines from Republic of Türkiýe, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia offered a wide range of comfortable flights for travel around the world. Representatives from Uzbekistan, Belarus, Thailand, Pakistan, and Uganda introduced visitors to the distinctive features of their countries. A pavilion highlighting educational opportunities in Malaysia was particularly attractive to young visitors.
In the afternoon, the international conference “Turkmentravel – 2026” was held. During the event, participants were introduced to the strategy for developing the national tourism industry and the large-scale work being carried out in this direction.
Representatives of neighboring and other countries shared their experience in developing the tourism sector and exchanged views on expanding mutually beneficial international cooperation. According to the guests, Turkmenistan’s unique natural landscapes and architectural features left a strong impression on them.
