On March 30, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via the digital system with the participation of Minister of Agriculture Charyar Chetiyev and the hakims of the velayats, during which the progress of work in the agro-industrial complex and in the regions of the country was reviewed. The hakims of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats reported on the pace of ongoing seasonal agricultural activities in their regions. As reported, fertilization with mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation are currently being carried out on wheat-sown fields. At the same time, cotton sowing continues in the velayats, with necessary measures being taken to complete this important campaign within the established timeframes. Within the framework of preparation for the silkworm cocoon production season, contracts are being concluded with producers in the velayats, and preparations of facilities for silkworm rearing are ongoing. The hakims also reported on the progress of construction of various facilities scheduled for opening this year under the National Agricultural Program. Summarizing the reports, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of the current agricultural work and instructed to ensure the completion of cotton sowing within agrotechnical deadlines, proper care of wheat and vegetable and melon crops, as well as organized preparation for the silkworm cocoon production season.
