Elections held in Turkmenistan

Elections were held in Turkmenistan for members of the Halk Maslahaty in newly established districts of the provinces, as well as to fill the seats of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap, and city Halk Maslahaty, and Gengeshs that had become vacant prematurely.
It should be noted that candidates were hardworking and highly respected individuals, including many experienced specialists engaged in various sectors of the national economy.
According to the Central Election Commission for Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan, all 578 polling stations across the electoral districts were opened simultaneously at the designated voting time.
By the time the polling stations closed at 7:00 p.m., 91.14 percent of voters had participated in the elections for members of the Halk Maslahaty in the newly formed districts of the provinces, 92.26 percent for deputies of the Mejlis, 91.47 percent for members of the provincial Halk Maslahaty and the city of Ashgabat, 91.06 percent for district and city Halk Maslahaty, and 91.20 percent for Gengeshs.
According to information provided by the Central Election Commission, the elections were recognized as valid.
