Turkmenistan and the European Union outline new directions for multifaceted cooperation
A business forum titled “New Horizons for Strengthening Connectivity, Attracting Investments, and Sustainable Development” was held in Ashgabat as part of the expansion of multifaceted dialogue between Turkmenistan and the European Union. During the forum, representatives of relevant agencies and heads of EU diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan emphasized the need to develop new cooperation mechanisms that meet contemporary requirements. In particular, they highlighted the importance of integrating into the global trade space and aligning the national economy with international standards. The first session focused on improving the business environment to support trade and investment development between Turkmenistan and the EU. Participants discussed enhancing trade and economic relations, strengthening the legal framework for entrepreneurship, and expanding the export capabilities of Turkmenistan’s private sector. Special attention was given to issues related to Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). It was noted that this step would open new opportunities for attracting foreign investment and advanced technologies, contributing to the diversification of the industrial sector and increasing the production of competitive goods.
