State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda received at Turkmenistan’s MFA

A meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Henry Oryem Okello.
During the meeting, held on March 24, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Ugandan cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the steady development of bilateral relations, paying special attention to contacts at the highest and high levels. In this context, the importance of strengthening relations between the foreign ministries of the two countries was emphasized.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in holding the first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uganda in the second half of 2026 in Ashgabat.
Special attention was given to prospects for expanding trade and economic ties and promoting business cooperation through the creation of a platform for developing partnership contacts in agriculture, the oil and gas sector, and other areas.
Prospects for further cooperation in education, science, culture, sports, and tourism were also considered.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation across all areas of common interest.
