On March 23, 2026, in Ashgabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan, Ji Shumin. During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China. Special attention was given to the recent friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to China, during which a constructive and cordial meeting was held with the President of China, Xi Jinping.
