On March 20, at a government meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev reported on the ongoing work to strengthen the material and technical infrastructure of the communications sector in Turkmenistan. As reported, guided by directives previously issued by the President of Turkmenistan, large-scale activities are currently being carried out to implement modern technologies and the digital economy in this field, improve the quality of communication services, expand the internet network, and increase the capacity of international data transit channels. After reviewing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that productive work is underway in the country to strengthen the material and technical base of the communications sector and to widely implement modern technologies. Approving the proposal for modernizing the communications system and improving quality in this sector, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take the necessary measures.
