In the historic center of the city, in Abanotubani, on March 17, 2026, with the support of the city hall and the participation of the Embassies of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Türkiýe, as well as diasporas and cultural centers, the International Day of Nowruz was celebrated. At the cultural zone of the Turkmen Embassy, decorated in a national style, visitors experienced the unique identity and richness of the country’s cultural heritage. Books by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, were presented, along with traditional costumes, jewelry, colorful handmade carpets, paintings, souvenirs, national dishes and sweets. A separate stand was dedicated to the 2026 motto: "Independent, neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses".
