Leadership of Turkmenistan and Chinese Corporation CNPC outline steps to develop cooperation
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a friendly visit to the People’s Republic of China, met with the Chairman of the Board of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Dai Houliang. During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects of cooperation, Hero-Arkadag confirmed the intention to continue sharing experiences with CNPC and to further develop the partnership. It was noted that Turkmen-Chinese cooperation covers a wide range of areas, including political-diplomatic, trade-economic, fuel-energy, transport-communication, logistics, industrial, technological, and cultural-humanitarian sectors. Cooperation in the fuel and energy sector remains one of the priority directions of bilateral relations. In this context, the important role of CNPC as a reliable partner of Turkmenistan in the oil and gas industry was emphasized. Hero-Arkadag highlighted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with CNPC and proposed holding an international scientific-practical conference to commemorate this significant milestone. During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag and the head of China’s largest corporation exchanged views on the further development of bilateral cooperation. It was emphasized that the Turkmen-Chinese partnership in the oil and gas sector serves as a clear example of effective interstate relations. In turn, Dai Houliang confirmed his readiness to continue developing cooperation with Turkmenistan in the fuel and energy sector, assuring that the corporation under his leadership will consistently approach the fulfillment of its partnership obligations responsibly.
