The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, on March 17 departed for a friendly visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Hero-Arkadag arrived at the capital’s International Airport for departure to China. There, he held talks with the leaders of political parties and public organizations of Turkmenistan. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that in recent years cooperation between Turkmenistan and China has reached a qualitatively new level. Interparliamentary cooperation and interparty ties are developing actively. Hero-Arkadag emphasized global initiatives related to security, civilization, development, and governance, which were adopted at the recent session of the National People’s Congress of China. In this context, Hero-Arkadag noted that these proposals align with Turkmen initiatives “Peace through Development” and “Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace.” It was also emphasized that they correspond to the country’s efforts to revive the Great Silk Road and to widely promote national cultural heritage worldwide. A few hours later, Hero-Arkadag’s aircraft landed at Beijing Capital International Airport, decorated with the State flags of both countries. Along the red carpet stood soldiers of the Honor Guard.
