On March 16, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev and the hakims of the velayats, during which issues related to the progress of work in the agro-industrial complex and in the regions of the country were considered. The hakims of the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the regions. As reported, mineral fertilization and vegetative irrigation are currently being carried out on wheat fields in the velayats. At the same time, work continues on organizing the cotton sowing campaign and ensuring its implementation at a high level. Seasonal activities on fields planted with potatoes and melon and vegetable crops are being carried out in compliance with agrotechnical requirements. In order to properly conduct the spring greening campaign, steps are currently being taken to prepare sites for tree planting. The hakims also reported on preparations for cultural and public events to be held in the velayats on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday. After hearing the reports, the head of state noted that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure the timely and full provision of cotton producers with high-quality seeds, to prepare agricultural machinery and equipment for the sowing campaign, and to carry out field care and fertilization in the regions in accordance with agrotechnical deadlines. The President of Turkmenistan also gave instructions to properly prepare for the spring greening campaign and the nationwide tree-planting initiative and to conduct them at a high level.
